About the app
DĚLŇAS is a personal work log for tracking your output and pay per shift – it works for any manual job paid by piece rate or quota (counted or weighed, per hour or per whole shift). The app doesn't come with any quotas built in – the very first step is to set up your own tasks and wage ladder under “Settings & wage tiers” to match your workplace (see “Quick start” below). After each shift you log what you did, how many pieces/kilos and in how many hours – and based on your ladder the app works out which tier (and hourly rate) you reached and shows whether your performance is going up or down.
- Wage ladder = the faster your pace, the higher the tier → a higher hourly rate + a quality-bonus range.
- Universal – you set up tasks, units (kg/pcs) and tiers from scratch to fit your own job.
- Charts and trends: daily, weekly, monthly and yearly overview of your average hourly rate.
- Levels and XP as a little game just for yourself.
- Funny messages and tips – no offense meant, just for fun.
- Everything is stored only on this phone/browser (offline, no server, no account).
- Change tiers and wages in Settings any time they change at your company; you can also export/import the whole wage table separately (see “Export & backup”).
- Pick your currency in Settings (€, $, £, Kč and more).
Quick start – first setup (do this first!)
A fresh install contains no tasks or quotas – you can't log a shift without this step. Open “Settings & wage tiers” below and follow this example:
- Tap the “+ Add new task” button at the very bottom of the Settings section. A new task block appears.
- In the text field at the top of the block (where it says “New task”), type what you'll be doing, e.g. “Box packing”.
- Next to the name, pick the unit from the dropdown: pcs if your output is counted in pieces, or kg if it's weighed.
- Set the “Measured per” row to match how the quota works at your company: “hour” if performance is measured as pace per hour (e.g. “you must do 150 pcs/h”), or “whole shift” if the quota is set for the whole shift (e.g. “you must do 1,100 pcs per shift”) – the app then scales shorter/longer hours worked to a full shift on its own.
- Below that is a size/grade block called “Standard” – if different sizes/types of goods have different quotas, rename it (e.g. “Small boxes”) and add more with the “+ Add size/grade” button. If your quotas don't differ, leave “Standard” as it is.
- Inside the size there's at least one tier with 4 fields – threshold, hourly rate, bonus min % and bonus max %. Fill them in from the real wage table at work, e.g.:
Tier 1: threshold 150, hourly rate 12, bonus min -10, bonus max 10
Tier 2 (via “+ Add tier”): threshold 200, hourly rate 13.50, bonus min -10, bonus max 15
and so on, for as many tiers as your company has. - There's no save button – the app saves every field as soon as you leave it (tap/click somewhere else). Add more tasks the same way if you need them.
How the app calculates from this: pace = quantity ÷ hours worked (for “hour”), or quantity scaled to the full set shift length (for “whole shift”). The app then finds the highest threshold your pace reached and uses its hourly rate. For example: if you pack 320 boxes in 2 hours, your pace is 320 ÷ 2 = 160 pcs/h – that reaches the tier 1 threshold (150) but not tier 2 (200), so tier 1 applies → 12 per hour. Estimated pay for this entry is 12 × 2 = 24, with the bonus ranging from 21.60 (−10 %) to 26.40 (+10 %). The “estimated pay” figure in the app is always this range (base ± bonus), because the app can't know exactly what quality/bonus will end up on your paycheck.
How to log a shift
- In the “New shift” card at the top, pick the date (today is preselected).
- If you had a day off, tick “I didn't work today” – the task form hides and the day is saved as a day off.
- Otherwise fill in the task row: task (from what you've set up in Settings), size/grade, quantity and hours worked.
- The “+ Add task” button adds another row to the same shift if you did more than one thing that day – add as many as you need.
- Remove a task row with the cross (×) in its top right corner.
- Optionally add a note (e.g. what happened, why your output was different) and save with the “Save shift” button.
Editing and deleting shifts
- Find the day you want in the “Shift history” section.
- “Edit” loads the shift back into the form at the top – change what you need and save. A yellow bar at the top shows you're in edit mode (you can cancel it).
- “Delete” removes the shift permanently – the app asks for confirmation first.
XP, levels and charts
The XP card at the top shows a game level based on your logged shifts and performance – it's just for fun and has no effect on your pay. Below it, the app tracks whether your average hourly rate is improving or getting worse, shows a summary by task for the last 30 days, and charts for the last 14 shifts, 12 weeks, 12 months and the past year (the greener a square in the yearly map, the higher the ladder tier on that day).
Settings & wage tiers (quotas) – what each field means
In the “Settings & wage tiers” section you set up your wage ladder in detail:
- Task (text field at the top of the block) – name of the activity, e.g. “assembly”, “packing”, “part production”. Next to it is the unit (kg/pcs). The cross (✕) next to a task deletes it – the app won't let you delete the very last task.
- Measured per – “hour” = the threshold is compared directly with your pace in quantity per hour; “whole shift” = the app scales your quantity as if you had worked the full set shift length (the “Shift length” field above) and compares that with the threshold. Useful when your company sets the quota as “this much per shift” rather than per hour.
- Size/grade – if quotas differ by size/type of goods, create a separate block for each with “+ Add size/grade” (at least one must remain). The cross (✕) deletes it.
- Tier – one row of the ladder: threshold (the pace from which the tier applies), hourly rate (hourly wage at this tier), bonus min % and bonus max % (how many percent the wage can still move up/down depending on quality – the app uses this to calculate an estimated pay range, not an exact number). “+ Add tier” adds another level, the cross (✕) next to a tier deletes it (at least one must remain). The app sorts tiers by threshold on its own, so the order you enter them in doesn't matter.
- Currency – the currency shown next to hourly rates and pay throughout the app. It only changes the symbol, it doesn't convert any numbers.
After you change a number in Settings, the app immediately recalculates shifts, charts and history. If you switch a task's unit (kg ↔ pcs), the app automatically switches “Measured per” as well and resets the tier thresholds to zero (a number for pieces can't simply be converted to kilos) – so after switching you need to enter the thresholds again.
Color themes
The palette button at the top switches the app's color theme (emerald, violet, cyan, rose, amber) – it's saved on your phone and stays for next time.
Export & backup
- Export PDF – performance and pay overview; opens the print dialog (choose “Save as PDF”).
- Export CSV – spreadsheet for Excel / Google Sheets.
- Back up data (JSON) – full backup of all shifts and settings. It's the only format you can restore data from – worth doing now and then, especially before switching phones.
- Restore from backup (JSON) – loads a backup file and replaces the current data with it (the app asks for confirmation).
- Save wage tables (JSON) – saves only tasks, sizes and tiers (without shift history). Handy if you just want to back up your quotas separately, or send/move them to another copy of the app.
- Load wage tables (JSON) – loads a wage table file and replaces tasks/sizes/tiers with it – shift history stays unchanged (the app asks for confirmation).
Deleting all data
At the very bottom of the app there's a “Delete all data” button – it deletes all logged shifts (settings and the wage ladder stay). The app asks for confirmation first and the action can't be undone – if you want to keep your data, download a backup (JSON) first.
Where the app lives
Everything is stored only on this phone/browser (localStorage) – the app doesn't need internet or an account and doesn't send your data anywhere. That also means clearing your browser data or switching to a new phone without a backup = lost data, so it's a good idea to back up now and then.
The Czech version of the app shares the same data on this device, so you can switch languages at any time.
