How the app calculates – with real numbers
A 250 km trip in a petrol car using 6.5 l/100 km, with fuel at $1.60 per liter and 2 people in the car.
- Fuel used:
250 ÷ 100 × 6.5 = 16.25 l - Fuel cost:
16.25 × 1.60 = $26.00 - Cost per kilometer:
26.00 ÷ 250 = $0.10 - Per person:
26.00 ÷ 2 = $13.00 - A round trip doubles the distance and the cost; extra costs are added to the total.

A few general habits that really add up on a longer drive:
Drive smoothly
Look ahead, avoid unnecessary braking and hard acceleration. Smooth driving is one of the most effective savings.
Ease off on the highway
Air resistance grows quickly with speed, so even a few km/h slower makes a difference.
Check tire pressure
Under-inflated tires increase rolling resistance and consumption. Use the pressure your car maker recommends.
Lose the extra load
Take off a roof box or rack when you don't need it – it adds drag.
Use A/C sensibly
Both air conditioning and open windows at high speed increase consumption.
Share the ride
Car sharing splits the cost – TRIP COST shows what each person pays.

Where your data lives

- The app doesn't use any maps API; a map link only opens when you tap it.

How much does TRIP COST cost?
Nothing. It's free, with no paid features and no sign-up.
How is the cost of a car trip calculated?
The distance is divided by 100 and multiplied by the consumption per 100 km, giving the amount of fuel used. This is multiplied by the price per liter or kWh, and any additional costs are added.
How do I find out my car’s fuel consumption?
You can find it in the vehicle registration document or on the on-board computer. As a guide: 6–8 l/100 km petrol, 5–7 l/100 km diesel, 15–20 kWh/100 km EV.
Does the calculator work for electric vehicles?
Yes. Switch the fuel type to Electric and enter the consumption in kWh/100 km and the price of electricity per kWh.
Can it split the cost between passengers?
Yes, enter the number of people in the car (1–30) and the cost per person is calculated automatically.
Where do I add tolls or parking?
In the Additional costs field. The amount is added to the total and reflected in the cost per km and per person.
Can I add it to my home screen?
Yes. On Android in Chrome the app offers to install itself; on iPhone, tap Share and then Add to Home Screen.
How do I move saved routes to another device?
In Saved routes, tap JSON to download a backup, then load it on the other device with Import.
