What Progrese does

Progrese is a free online chord progression generator. Pick a key and a mood and the tool builds an 8-bar chord progression together with a matching melody, bassline, and arpeggio. You can play everything back right in the browser, or export it as a standard MIDI file for your DAW.

What data the app collects

Progrese does not collect or process any personal data. Specifically:

Local storage

Progrese does not save your settings or generated progressions between visits — it doesn't use your browser's local storage at all. Every time you open the app or reload the page, it starts fresh.

Playback and export

Playback happens entirely in your browser using the Web Audio API. Exporting builds a standard MIDI file (.mid) directly on your device and offers it to you as a download — the file is never uploaded anywhere. Any MIDI file you generate and download is yours to use freely, in personal or commercial music, with no license fees or attribution required.

External resources

Progrese loads the Tone.js audio library from a third-party CDN (cdnjs.cloudflare.com) so it can play sound in the browser. Loading this script sends a standard request to that CDN's servers, the same way most websites load shared code libraries.

The app also loads a small script from GoatCounter (gc.zgo.at) to record an anonymous page-view count. GoatCounter is a privacy-focused analytics service: it doesn't use cookies or any other persistent identifier, doesn't track individual visitors, and doesn't build profiles or share data with advertisers. It only tells us roughly how many people visit the page — nothing more.

Beyond these two, the app does not load any other external scripts or tracking code.
