SYNTHLUCIDA — User Guide

Experience 24/7 uninterrupted streaming. Enjoy continuous, free listening. Whether you need background music for focus, deep relaxation, or daily activities, this stream provides the perfect atmospheric soundtrack. Find out more at www.SYNTHLUCIDA.com.

Playback

Use the center button to play or pause the current track, and ⏭ to skip to the next one. Tap 🔀 to shuffle the playlist or 🔁 to repeat the current track. Drag the progress bar to seek to any point, and use the slider to adjust the volume.

Atmospheres & playlists

Switch between the ASMR, PIANO and CHILL playlists at the top of the screen. GAME and RELAX open separate pages with their own soundscapes. The playlist you last listened to is remembered automatically the next time you open the player.

Visual themes

Choose from NEON, SPACE, EARTH, SYNTH, DARK, BLOOD, AQUA, GOLD, MATRIX, AMBER, LAVENDER, AURORA, SAKURA, FROST and ROSEGOLD to change the colors and ambient glow of the player. NEON and AURORA shift gently over time on their own.

Ambient effects

WEATHER cycles through four states: a warm SUN scene with drifting light and birds crossing the sky, a soft falling RAIN animation, a quiet WINTER scene with gently falling snow, then a windier WINTER II blizzard with slanted, faster snow. SUNSET cycles through two states: a warm sunset gradient, then a living starry NIGHT sky with a softly glowing moon. Both WEATHER and SUNSET/NIGHT can be combined with any visual theme, and are remembered when you save your settings.

Breathing exercise

Tap BREATHE to open a full-screen guided breathing session with a slowly pulsing orb. Inside that screen, its own ⓘ icon opens a dedicated guide explaining each breathing technique — 4-7-8, Box, Coherent, Calm and Sigh — in detail.

Sleep timer

Set playback to stop automatically after 15, 30 or 60 minutes using the timer buttons, or cancel an active timer at any time with ✖.

Crossfade

Choose 3, 6, 8 or 10 seconds under CROSSFADE to smoothly blend the end of one track into the start of the next, or leave it OFF for a hard cut.

History

🕘 HISTORY shows the tracks you've recently played, with the playlist and time. Tap a track name to play it again, use 📄 EXPORT TXT to save the list as a text file to your device, or CLEAR HISTORY to reset it.

My Playlist

Tap the ♥ next to any track in the playlist, or the + next to a track in HISTORY, to add it to 🎵 MY PLAYLIST — tap the heart again to remove it, and your picks stay marked between visits. Reorder tracks with ▲▼ or remove them with ✕, then hit PLAY to listen through your own list in exactly that order — it works alongside Shuffle and Repeat just like a normal playlist. Use 📄 EXPORT TXT to save a readable list, 💾 EXPORT PLAYLIST to save a file you can load back in later, and 📂 IMPORT PLAYLIST to load a playlist you saved before.

XP, levels & unlocking downloads

Just using SYNTHLUCIDA earns you XP: about 2 XP per minute of listening, 4 XP for every track you listen to for at least 20 seconds (quickly skipping through tracks won't earn XP), 20 XP for every BREATHE session you keep going for at least a minute, and a 30 XP bonus for every new day you open the app — so a daily visit and a steady streak pay off. Every 180 XP takes you up a level. Once a track is hearted (♥) into 🎵 MY PLAYLIST, your growing XP gradually unlocks it for a real ⬇ MP3 download to your device — one track at a time, in the order you added them, costing 270 XP per unlock. Tracks you add from your own uploaded files in My Files don't take part in this — they're already on your device, so they stay unlocked and don't take up an unlock slot. Open the S button to see your level, XP progress and which tracks are unlocked.

My Files

Tap the F button to open My Files. Use + ADD AUDIO FILES to upload your own tracks from your device, then CREATE a playlist and build a mixed playlist by adding both your own files and SYNTHLUCIDA tracks to it, right there in the F section. Tap the ▶ next to a playlist (or ▶ PLAY once it's expanded) to play it immediately with the regular player controls, including shuffle, repeat and crossfade. You can also tap the ♥ on any playing track to add it to MY PLAYLIST on the home screen, so picks from different playlists - your own files included - can be combined into one running order. Your files and playlists stay only on this device and are never uploaded anywhere.

Save & fullscreen

SAVE stores your current theme, effects and other preferences so they load automatically the next time you visit. FULLSCREEN hides the browser interface for a cleaner, distraction-free view.

Offline listening

⬇ DOWNLOAD OFFLINE saves the current playlist for offline playback. Offline listening works only inside the app, not in a regular browser tab.

Notifications

Tap 🔔 REMINDERS to turn on gentle local reminders. The first time you enable them, your browser will ask for notification permission — allow it. Pick how often you want a nudge (every 15m, 30m, 1h, 2h or 4h), and from then on you'll get a short notification with a calming message, popping up the same way any other app notification does (banner, lock screen or notification shade, depending on your device). Use TEST NOTIFICATION any time to see one right away. Everything happens locally on your device - nothing is sent to any server. Reminders keep firing while the app is open or running in the background; if your phone or browser fully closes the app, they pause until you open it again - that's a limit of how browsers work, not a bug. Turn them off anytime from the same 🔔 REMINDERS panel.

My Files & Playlists

Add your own audio files and build playlists that mix them with SYNTHLUCIDA tracks. Everything plays through the same player below - shuffle, repeat, crossfade and the sleep timer all work with it too.

Your Files

Your Playlists

Uploaded files and playlists are stored locally in your browser and are never sent anywhere.

Reminders

Get a gentle local notification every so often, reminding you to pause and breathe. Nothing is sent to any server - it's just your browser's own notification system.

Works while the app is open or running in the background. If your phone or browser has closed the app completely, reminders pause until you open it again - that's a platform limit, not a bug.

How To: Your Own Tracks & Mixing

Everything below happens on the F panel (My Files & Playlists) - here's exactly how to add your own audio, mix it with SYNTHLUCIDA tracks, and build your own playlists.

1. Add your own audio files

Open the F panel and tap + ADD AUDIO FILES. Pick one or more audio files from your device - they upload instantly, with nothing sent anywhere; each file is stored locally in your browser and shows up under "Your Files". Tap a file's name to play it right away on its own, or tap ✕ to delete it (this also removes it from any playlist it was added to).

2. Build a playlist that mixes your files with SYNTHLUCIDA

Under "Your Playlists", type a name and tap CREATE. Open the new playlist card and use the dropdown to add items to it one at a time - it lists both your uploaded files and every SYNTHLUCIDA track, so you can freely interleave your own audio with ASMR, PIANO, or CHILL tracks in any order. Reorder items with ▲▼ or remove them with ✕. Tap ▶ PLAY on the playlist card to play it straight through your own list, start to finish.

3. Mix your files into MY PLAYLIST with ♥

There's a second, simpler way to mix: play one of your own files (or open any SYNTHLUCIDA playlist), then tap the ♥ next to a track to add it to MY PLAYLIST - the same heart-based playlist you use for SYNTHLUCIDA tracks. Add a few of your own files and a few SYNTHLUCIDA favorites this way, and a single MY PLAYLIST run will shuffle or play through both together.

4. Everything else still works

Playlists built from your own files play through the exact same engine as the rest of the app - Shuffle, Repeat, Crossfade, and the sleep timer all work with them too, and the last one you played is remembered the next time you open the app.

Uploaded files, your playlists, and MY PLAYLIST are all stored only on this device and are never uploaded anywhere.

Support SYNTHLUCIDA

This player is free to use, and keeping it that way takes real work — writing and producing music, paying for hosting, and building new features. If you'd like to support that effort, the easiest way is to purchase a track on Bandcamp or Supraphon, AudioJungle, Pond5. Every purchase goes directly toward the app's development, hosting costs, and the music itself.

More ways to get involved and stay in touch can be found at www.SYNTHLUCIDA.com. Thank you for listening and for considering a contribution — it genuinely makes a difference.

How to breathe

Sit comfortably and follow the glowing orb: it expands on the inhale, holds steady and shimmers during a hold, and shrinks on the exhale. Breathe through the nose when the technique doesn't say otherwise. Pick whichever technique fits the moment — you can switch anytime.

4-7-8 — Dr. Weil

Inhale quietly through the nose for 4s, hold for 7s, then exhale completely through the mouth for 8s. Popularized by Dr. Andrew Weil, this ratio is widely used to ease anxiety and wind down before sleep by shifting the body toward a "rest and digest" state.

Box — Navy SEAL method

Inhale for 4s, hold for 4s, exhale for 4s, hold empty for 4s. An equal-count pattern used by Navy SEALs and first responders to stay calm and sharply focused under pressure.

Coherent breathing

Inhale and exhale evenly for about 5.5s each — roughly 5-6 breaths per minute. Studied as a resonance frequency in heart-rate variability (HRV) research, linked to better vagal tone and stress resilience over time.

Calm — extended exhale

Inhale for 4s, exhale for 6s, making the out-breath longer than the in-breath. A longer exhale stimulates the vagus nerve and slows the heart rate — a quick way to downshift after a stressful moment.

Sigh — Huberman Lab

Two inhales through the nose (one long, one short "sip" on top of it), followed by one long, slow exhale through the mouth. Studied at Stanford's Huberman Lab as one of the fastest ways to lower physiological stress in real time.

General relaxation information only — not medical advice. If you feel dizzy or unwell, breathe normally and stop.
